Easy Creamy Dates Caramel
This is a simple and quick recipe, perfect as a healthier alternative to traditional caramel.
- 1 cup dates,( if is pitted, much bettler)
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for a warm touch)
- 2 tablespoon plant-based milk (almond, oat, or coconut milk for extra creaminess)
Soften the dates:Place the pitted dates in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let them soak for 10–20 minutes, until they are soft and plump. Then drain.
Blend:Add the dates to a blender with sea salt, vanilla, and cinnamon (if using). Pour in 2 tablespoons of milk to start and blend until smooth.
Adjust texture:If the caramel is too thick, add milk one tablespoon at a time, blending after each addition.(Tip: coconut milk gives the creamiest texture!)
Store:Transfer your date caramel to a jar and refrigerate for up to two weeks.
